The island of Hispaniola, home to two countries: The Dominican Republic and Haiti. Two places I can say I have had the opportunity to visit. Out of the two countries DR was my most recent traveling experience. My parents are from Haiti, so my background is Haitian. I don’t know spanish but I can speak creole, that came in handy more than I will explain in this post. I traveled to Haiti when I was 12 and from what I remember Haiti and DR have similar features. Although the pictures tell a story DR was not totally beautiful and pleasant. While traveling back to New York my terabyte hard drive was stolen out of my luggage, it had many memories and tons of hard work. Most of these files cannot be found on any other area of storage that I own. I will not put blame on anyone but myself, a lesson was learned and a hunger was born. Enjoy!
